“why do you fear death” because fear is a survival mechanism instilled in life in order to motivate it to stay alive long enough to reproduce. that’s it. if your species dies before it can fuck, you no longer have a species. so species with fear instincts that prevent them from dying en masse tend to win out. there is absolutely nothing divine about that.
I mean you can always have more kids / support your kids in having more kids. We’re talking about biological drives here, that’s the evolutionary reason for the fear instinct. Humans, since we are highly intelligent, can articulate what we like about being alive, and so can also fear death because we want life itself to continue. I don’t understand your argument, belief in the Christian God would mean not fearing death, because this is only the prologue to the real, eternal life with God.
Uh yes my worldview is based on evidence, on things that can be proven based on evidence. It is informed by emotions and morality (i.e. I don’t like suffering, thus I support things that based on evidence, would reduce it), but yes, I don’t derive my belief about anything based on magical thinking.
