I'm as certain as I can be about anything that there's no such thing as god

That’s an innate trait of all living things. an argument from nature will not go well for you

because why wouldn’t you fear the end of yourself?

“why do you fear death” because fear is a survival mechanism instilled in life in order to motivate it to stay alive long enough to reproduce. that’s it. if your species dies before it can fuck, you no longer have a species. so species with fear instincts that prevent them from dying en masse tend to win out. there is absolutely nothing divine about that.

I mean you can always have more kids / support your kids in having more kids. We’re talking about biological drives here, that’s the evolutionary reason for the fear instinct. Humans, since we are highly intelligent, can articulate what we like about being alive, and so can also fear death because we want life itself to continue. I don’t understand your argument, belief in the Christian God would mean not fearing death, because this is only the prologue to the real, eternal life with God.

We fear death because we are alive and being dead is the opposite of being alive. We are mammals. Ask a frog why it doesn’t want to die it’s not gonna cite Christ at you

I know that’s a lot but dead = not alive and believing in god = fine and believing in no god = fine

Apologetics is a joke. Just admit that your belief is based on faith and not reason, instead of twisting yourself into knots trying to make fallacious, circular arguments. You can’t make a logical argument for something for which no empirical evidence exists

Questions can be tools for arguments lmao If I ask you, do you seriously think it’s okay to kill people? I’m standing on the position innately that I disagree with that premise being okay. What is your PROOF for God? I am willing to listen.

That’s not an answer. I asked genuinely and Im not trying to be rude. So, what is your proof of God?

Uh yes my worldview is based on evidence, on things that can be proven based on evidence. It is informed by emotions and morality (i.e. I don’t like suffering, thus I support things that based on evidence, would reduce it), but yes, I don’t derive my belief about anything based on magical thinking.

What is your proof of God?

Because I literally experience my thoughts? I know what I think… because I think it. I choose to hold political or social beliefs based on my morals, and on what I believe is most effective in terms of my values based on evidence.
