Protests aren’t disruptive anymore, the system has adapted to them. We need to be actually disruptive if we want change.

Peaceful protest has never led a government to change itself. There’s a reason our country was founded through revolution as opposed to legislation or picket fence signs

I’m sure this is from a lack of understanding so please read up on the history of the civil rights movement, it was definitely not just peaceful protests that led to the passage of the CRA

I need to learn more about this myself but the more I find out about the civil rights movement the more I seem to discover that there were significant non peaceful aspects to it that contributed to moving the needle. We all learned in school that pure non-violence did the trick but I don’t think that’s the whole story

No people just use that as a reason to justify acting like a fool now, you remember MLK and Jesus there’s a reason for that. You don’t remember the dramatic psychos

They don’t teach you about the violent resistance movements or anti capitalist movements in school, thats why you don’t remember them. The state is largely unswayed by peaceful protests now just like they were then.

You didn’t learn about leninists or soviets in school cause we did? The capitalist state isn’t swayed cause the capitalist state works. As much as the theatre kids want it to fail
