The American healthcare system needs to be burned to the ground. It’s a disgrace

Communism is when you trust the state to take better care of you than yourself. Or there’s the latter stage where money isn’t real and we all hold hands and sing kumbaya while all our needs are magically met.

what’s the point of the state if it isn’t to protect / take care of its citizens?

You trust the state to do that? Is communism when all the people in power finally become flawless selfless beings?

I mean if you don’t trust the state to do that, what’s the point of the state in the first place? And ofc not everyone is going to be selfless, but when society encourages selfless behavior rather than selfish behavior, more people will act selflessly, behavioral psychology

we spend more than any other developed nation by far while also having the worst healthcare outcomes by far, it’s almost as if for profit healthcare is a black hole for cash and bad for patients 😱

Exactly. In theory that sounds great but that’s the problem. Not everyone plays by the rules even in those situations and as we’ve seen they definitely don’t in countries that have experimented.

cant believe you trust the state to do policing, law setting, defense, or anything! imagine that! imagine a government that has actors doing things that dont benefit ONLY themselves!

You don’t realize how truly evil it is til you have a family member with dementia. Medicare tells you to get fucked. All private insurance tells you to get fucked. The only option is Medicaid. Otherwise get ready to pay 10k a month for memory care

I would argue that it hasn’t failed, intervention + extreme sanctions would be hard to survive in a capitalist country too, plus China is doing just fine lol

I don’t, trusting the state is a fools errand. I would love to, but I live in reality

Wait till you find out about the early days of the United States or any other country that has a major political system shift We’re not even going to entertain the idea that modern china is communist

Of the sort, I’m not going to pretend that we don’t need some government but it should be kept to a minimum(avoiding a million paragraphs on the details)

I had a medical emergency where one of my testicles had blood flow entirely cut off, almost lost an organ, my insurance says it wasn’t a “medically necessary procedure” despite the fact that if I did nothing I would’ve likely died within the week due to necrosis / sepsis
