Taxes. Tariffs are taxes. That’s money that went straight to the government and benefits you in absolutely zero way. Good win buddy

Corporations ate most of the initial cost by stocking inventory prior to the tariffs being enacted, once that inventory runs out prices are going to skyrocket. Take an economics class please 🙏
