Honestly I think Operation Susannah is less evocative but it’s a better condemnation of Israel’s attitudes towards the USA. Like the USS Liberty or even the assassination attempt on John Gunther Dean could be dismissed by someone pro-Israel as accidental or as a coincidence. But not Operation Susannah. Israeli agents straight up bombed the United States Information Agency library in Cairo.

This became known as the Lavon Affair. Israel sent agents to bomb American, British, and Egyptian targets as a false flag. They intended to blame this on Egyptian radicals to convince the British that they shouldn’t withdraw from the Suez because Egypt was too unstable. But the plot got found out partway through completion.
