i visited china over the summer and realized nobody had political opinions or at least never shared them which was quite a culture shock (anything negative on their social media gets taken down immediately)

To be fair that’s true about America too tho right? I mean I live in the sticks and I can tell you these places are often comparable to the third world. Especially when you get a layer or two deeper than where I’m at. Listen man there’s a lot of problems with china. Politics is a big one, and the reason people don’t talk about it isn’t because they’re so happy. Buuuuuut, china is generally very good at stuff we’re really bad at. Like infrastructure. Or like, education. Or progressing broadly
