Anti Irish “terror” but says nothing about the terror that caused such violence for hundreds of years in the first place, hmm. Aka ahistorical and anti Irish lmao

it's a piece written from the perspective of that generation of irish citizen, they're just expressing their feelings with music. but you know everything so fuck their whole life yeah that makes you super morally superior.

Sorry I’m allowed to have opinions and historical analyses thru my own extensive research and I’m honoring my grandfather’s legacy, who was in the IRA. I understand the Irish are deeply colonized mentally like most Americans and will have some reactionary views. Doesn’t make them accurate analyses

The Irish in the republic, i should say. She’s from the same county as my family. The Irish in the north are much more radicalized bc of ongoing violence and oppression. Look at kneecap and their beliefs

just because you don't agree dosent mean you're right and they're automatically wrong. people can see different sides of the same coin yknow.

you're saying you are allowed to have your opinions and then immediately said they can express their own opinions only if they don't contradict yours. just dont listen to the song if it ticks your clock too fast.

They can express their opinions bruh, I have no control over what other ppl do. I can also express my opinion regarding their shitty and harmful takes 😭 plus she’s passed away now, rip. I still like the cranberries and Dolores O'Riordan. Look I took a pic of her mural in Limerick Just the lyrics on this one are so backwards. I’m allowed to criticize media, esp if it pushes a harmful political message. Holy shit

We are talking about the IRA car bombings and drug smuggling. Theirs a reason they stopped doing no things because they started to fail to get anyone to support them. Leading them to split and fracture over time. It’s not to say the British government was any good. But the IRA during the late 80s and 90s were the ones escalating the violence. The troubles were a shit show of extremists on both sides that killed innocent civilians

Honestly I’d do more research into the topic and check your sources and where their funding comes from. The Provos are not exempt from criticism ofc and they did make many mistakes but they did whatever they could to minimize civilian deaths. Esp children. They weren’t just crazy violent extremists. I’m not sure if you’re aware of how bad it was before the Irish civil rights movement. It was the failure of the British government to heed their warnings that led to most civilian casualties

And tbh I feel like calling it the troubles and treating it as just extremists out of control doing random violence is akin to calling the Palestinian genocide “the Israel/Palestine conflict” and calling Palestinian armed resistance “terrorism”

I would also call the Israelis terrorist both sides were doing I don’t think it’s beyond that idea. Calling ahead of time to tell people to leave before you blow up an area is something the Israelis did. At least before they decided to focus on indiscriminate killings Now I gotta ask why did they stop? Northern Ireland is still part of Britain so did they just give up or did they realize they were causing more problems for Irish people than helping

Well the “troubles” never ended. It’s still ongoing bc Ireland is still not united and free

Although the Good Friday Agreement wasn’t the end all be all the IRA is dead as an active military problem. With the last attack by them in 1998 when they killed 29 and injured 200 more after the IRA fucked up telling people where to evacuate from. both the Irish government and the United Kingdom agrees it’s over creating the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Act of 2023.

I saw murals I’ve also seen murals of the monarchs of France. The troubles was an armed conflict when the guns fall silent and the peace treaty is signed the conflict is over.
