Also as a contractor it was expected my name would not be recorded by the pentagon if I died in Iraq. I would say I’m not sure why they felt the need to add that to the article, but I would be willing to bet they concluded most people would just look at the numbers and be like “that’s horrible!”
For context. Part of the reason I became a contractor was I was fed up with the pentagon trying to micromanage everything my team and I while I was active duty. I go through all of that so some Washington post reporter could capitalize on my coworkers deaths for political brownie points on a technicality.
