
The Pharisees had him arrested and put to trial at night because they knew there would be backlash because he was innocent. Pontius Pilate himself believed Jesus was an innocent man and even asked Jesus why he wasn’t defending himself. If you read the Bible you would know this, but of course people like you don’t care about actual truth.
The whole thing with Pilate, and really the circumstances surrounding the crucifixion show evidence of being edited during the establishment of the Roman Catholic canon several hundred years after the fact. Kind of necessary when a religion that is all about obeying God rather than temporal authority gets absorbed into the power structure of the greatest temporal authority of the time.
