Essentially this girl at OU wrote an essay, I think for a psych or sociology class, where they were supposed to discuss an article they read, which iirc was about bullying and I think gender norms? But the big thing was that the entire essay was about how all her classmates are stupid, that line of thinking is “demonic,” etc, using the bible as evidence. Didn’t cite anything, didn’t meet the word requirement, one of the worst essays I’ve ever read and I taught sixth graders.

The teacher failed her, obviously, but she claimed discrimination bc the teacher is trans. Right wing media took it and ran with it

I just have to say Idk why I was reading “the teacher failed her” as in the sense of it was the teacher who let her down, and I was really concerned Perry the platypus would say this until my dumbass realized what you meant 😭

Oh yeah I could’ve phrased that better lmao. I meant like the teacher gave her a failing grade, yeah. I would never be that stupid, trust

She spent the whole essay defending religious gender norms (without defining them), basically defended bullying kids, and shit on trans people. Mind you the research article had nothing to do with trans people or taking a stance on gender norms. It basically just showed evidence that the extent to which teens perceive themself and their peers as fitting into gender roles/ideals/stereotypes impacts popularity, bullying, and mental health.
