I mean there’s something to be said for the speed at which change can happen. Large scale societal reforms take time, and trying to force them extremely rapidly can both cause them to fail and can cause massive collateral damage. It’s worthwhile to pump the breaks when necessary.

There is such a thing as too equitable. Pay is the main motivator for people to become doctors or lawyers, we need worker ownership of the means of production so the most valuable and trained workers still get paid the most, but every worker is paid their fair share
