I can never take back what I said, but I want to apologize to people here I belittled and outright threatened some weeks ago. My views were warped and so, so incredibly wrong. More in the comments ⬇️

This seems a bit too sincere to be bait so I just wanna say congrats on making it out 🙏

Yes it's me, the guy that made the post saying “I hate liberals” and went on a tangent in the replies about how I viewed them as the enemy and wanted to do terrible things to them. Long story short, I've pretty much done a complete 180 after intervention from others (cont.)

So I want to not just apologize as sincerely as I can through a keyboard, I'm going to take action. I spent the past year defending ICE religiously, only way to make up for it now imo is to work against them. Another thing that woke me up is realizing they were established by the Patriot Act, and that the U.S. seemed to have been functioning just fine without them before. Any way I can get involved, I want to support the complete abolition of ICE.

I never had (and still don't have) any weapons to actually…”do something,” but I was contemplating acquiring them. I did sincerely want to commit an attack, I just wasn't sure what. But I was completely brainwashed. Years of MAGA propaganda had me convinced ICE was basically doing a holy crusade to “save America…”

I’d spent the past year in particular alone, nothing to do in my free time but fume online at “commie terrorists” who I now realize are constitutionally in the right, and also morally right. I fell deep into the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories, convinced liberals were paving the way for a global dictatorship…

Those that read this I'm sure are wondering: what changed? 1. I ACTUALLY READ THE CONSTITUTION FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE, crazy I know. Specifically the 5th and 14th amendments 2. I made myself stop and think after people I know irl became concerned about me being angry, which is not how I usually am. They didn't know about my intentions, but just saw I was emotionally off. 3. A YouTuber I was introduced to called Dark Matter almost singlehandedly snapped me out of what I now realize was cult thinking

I am working on getting therapy. Ironically, I'm usually the unpaid therapist my irl friends went to when they were struggling. Guess now it's my turn. But the biggest point I wanna stress is what I learned: at this point, MAGA is a full-on cult, not just an ideology. I know firsthand that its believers reject empathy and reasoning in favor of their personal beliefs. And the most devoted believers can become and are radicalized. “Christian Taliban” is surprisingly accurate

Thank you. My original post has been long since deleted by YikYak mods or whatever, and honestly for good reason. I said horrible, disgusting shit that I hate myself for even saying now
