It blows my mind every day to learn how selfish republicans are. It used to be “no hand outs for able bodied people” now it’s “no hand outs for children, the elderly, or the disabled”

This is irrelevant because party politics have changed drastically over this time period. When populist conservatives are in power, standards of living are way better than when liberals/neocons are in power
