I was raised Christian but outside of church, I have a reverence for the Bible and God- I love Christ- but to love God you must loved one another. 1 John 4:18 “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love”. To claim to be Christian but not help someone regardless of who they are or what they may have done is the antithesis of the religion. My role is not the judge, my role is not the jury, my role is only to love as Jesus loved us.

I grew up Catholic and the social teachings and spirituality were the only things that ever resonated with me. Our social teachings class there was a super conservative kid who always had to give his opinion, like a mini Charlie Kirk. Our whole class would ragebait him by saying something like “I think we should help ppl”

It’s sick to not help the poor, the ill, the homeless, the traveller or the immigrant, the refugee, and the displaced. Our religion is meant to accept these people with open arms regardless of their transgressions so they know they are safe under His watch. That’s all. I don’t care if they believe in Him or not, that is their journey not mine.
