Because we can. Simple as.
Why is it solely our responsibility to feed the rest of the 3rd world lmao

I support Ukraine’s right to existence and I believe it is our job to arm them and train them to help defend their country, but I’d be an actual fucking loser to sit and question why some of those men would simply want to just lives without conflict when I’ve never seen war myself or have to fight for my very existence. The true “American exceptionalism” is not knowing what the meaning of struggle and survival is. You complain about “your tax dollars” while people get their faces peeled off lol

That’s the dumbest argument ever. They can feed themselves.

That’s even dumber argument considering any sort of “feels” politics you try to give can literally just be countered with “They can just ____ themselves”

the lack of compassion is truly staggering, you're a bad person :)

Not even just that, but also just a moronic person. If you wanted to look at it even from a pragmatic sense, helping people builds favor and goodwill for your own country later on down the line. This moron thinks every country is a metaphorical island.

Yeah. I just completely disagree. People coming in illegally have no respect for the U.S. they’re coming here for benefits. To be taken care of. If they respected us they’d come here legally. They don’t share our values, they want the U.S. to break down. I’m not gonna pay for them to live a better life than me. They can better their own countries before they come and ruin ours just like they did theirs. It’s not my job to pay for other people’s lifestyles.

Well they can. They need to focus on making their countries better instead of actively making ours worse.

I don’t lack compassion. You lack compassion because you’re completely fucking over people who’ve been waiting to come here legally for years. There’s needs to be a reason we let people in.

Now you’re just generalizing lol. Imagine thinking it’s disrespect for someone to try to get into the United States by any means necessary. I’m not for open borders or illegal immigration, but to pretend like the people coming here are trying to break down “shared values” and “ruin our country” by working jobs in hospitality services and agricultural industries that are the lowest on the totem pole.

The easiest opinion in the world to have is literally the one I hold I feel which is, “illegal immigration is bad, but something should be done to help fix the system so hard working immigrants, whether here legally or illegally, have a pathway to citizenship if they so desire it”

This idea that you pay for them is ludicrous lol. If anything, they pay for you given the work they do. This country doesn’t have enough people to fill the jobs that immigrants hold.

Also focus on “making their countries better”. The audacity of that statement is wild. Mexican cartels assassinate a mayor and will torture anyone who speaks out and you question why people don’t fight back and come to our country lol? Ukraine is fighting off its larger neighbor from invading it and you question why some young men would rather leave to simply live another day than fight a war that would likely claim their life?
