Reading this statement and realizing it’s one of the most groundbreaking statements I’ve read this year
Ironic that republicans ended up being the post-modernists

Postmodernism meaning like… skepticism of traditional concepts of knowledge. But what does that mean in terms of republicans, is it the fact that they just don’t care if something is true or not and will constantly lie about the littlest things for no reason ?

It’s a cultural and philosophical concept. Modernism is essentially “work towards truth and you shall find it, whatever it may be”. Post-modernism is essentially “truth is whatever the fuck I want it to be”. That’s incredibly layman. It’s best to read into it.

It expresses itself a lot in art. The best examples are buildings like the Empire State Building. Modernist structures always end in a point. They have finality. Postmodernism is essentially whatever the fuck you want it to be.

So to answer your question…sort of. You’re in the ballpark, just need better framing. It’s not that they don’t care if something it’s true, that implies they know truth and deny it. The correct framing is only truth that matters is their truth, because truth can be whatever they want it to be. They don’t see themselves as lying.
