Everything going on (erosion of privacy, datacenters, foreign policy) has really disillusioned me to the idea of representative democracy. There need to be more ways for the public to have a direct say in the policymaking and lawmaking process.

Honestly I was thinking that I’m crazy. Like direct democracy can’t work but there should at least be avenues for laws made by national referendums and the opportunity for a referendum to strike down a proposed bill.

There are 20+ policies that 80 PERCENT of americans support but ARENT ENACTED because of LOBBYISTS!!! What part do you not get??? Is it better to have the people make decisions or rich assholes who can afford to buy politicians?

Majority of the US voted for this, voters are stupid. They don't know what's going to work and they screw stuff up. They're easily swindled and barely literate. If we had people who actually valued education and intelligence running things maybe they'd let others be as educated.
