Stacking state & federal income tax, millionaires eventually give about as much money to the government as they pocket. The only greed here is the way that the government uses it. Maybe if you put a little more thinking in your cap you’d realize it’s a gross waste of money to be spending more than double what anyone else in the world does on military and defense, when even 1/2 of that money could absolutely be used to fund programs with more benefit for public welfare. The rich are taxed plenty.

It’s the way that the tax income is used that’s the biggest issue, not the perceived lack of paying their fair share. Again, 50% of this country pays 97% of its taxes. 1% pay 40%. Any higher than that, it’s getting a bit egregious. If average people have to be responsible spenders, the government should too. All higher taxes does in the existing framework is give the govt more money for Israel and war. Hegseth just asked for 90 billion more.

Update on reading the rest of OP’s comments. Raise their taxes and also divert money from the military. Use the revenue to fix the prison system

No. I’m saying the government has ample tax money to implement the programs that the populace want tax hikes to create. But, instead, they’re dumping that money into a military that has more than double the budget of any other country on earth. Our military spending accounts for 1/3 of the combined military spending of every country on earth.

You can take your conclusion however you want it. My post is very strongly implying that the problem in this country is not that the rich are being taxed too little.
