Lol. Lmao, even. Ridiculous on every level. Ridiculous to think that pressure washing can make you a quick 10k, ridiculous to think that “code shcool” costs as much, and ridiculous to think that you’ll make $150k coding w/o an elite education

This is what boomers think the economy is like for 25 year olds. This is the level of delusion they are trapped in. We need to take power away from them. Desperately

If you really think 150k is unachievable w/o an elite education then maybe you too are being ridiculous

Most things he says are just basic advice or victim blaming But some people do need basic advice to be fair .

Like people call him just to hear the same thing that everyone else has been telling them “Don’t be a dumb shit and trade in your 65k car for a 15-20k shitbox, eat rice and beans”

Maybe not elite, but at least semi elite, and years of experience after graduating. Even a lot of lawyers don’t make that much after graduating.

It’s not unachievable, but not everyone can make 150k. The system is built so anyone could make it, but not everyone can be paid a living wage, there will kinda necessarily be a underclass.

Right, some people need to be told the obvious. But this advice is garbage. For a struggling 20 something, I’d say finish college at a state school for the cheaper tuition in something like business or accounting and get a government job. That’s a stepping stone to something modestly better.

Why would you mention lawyers, that is a completely different realm of work? That would be like saying you can’t make six figures as a union pipe fitter because Vet techs have a degree and rarely make that much

Tbh it was on my mind because my brother did data analytics (where he does a lot of coding) and now he’s pivoting to law school. The prospects aren’t nearly as rosy as Dave is making them out to be as a coder and they’re not tons and bunches better as a lawyer either.

The trades are struggling pretty hard right now for young blood, not the most glamorous line of work at times, but you can make damn good money

Union all the way baby Non-union is still $35 an hour. Which grosses over 100 K a year with the hours worked
