the reason the US and Israel are such close allies is because both countries were founded in a very similar manner. both are settler colonies, both displaced the natives, both committed genocide, and both embrace(d) some variation of manifest destiny.

I mean I think they are similar in many many ways but I don’t think that’s really why they’re close allies. Israel needed a new backer after France stopped caring about the Middle East. America wanted to power project in the region, and Kennedy wanted to secure Jewish voters. And then the evangelicals had their whole thing.

Why does almost all of MENA speak Arabic how did that happen? Most countries have histories of displacing other people, that doesn’t make it good. By this logic though the U.S. should be allied with all of MENA

Historical linguistic spread and modern settler colonialism are different. The Arabic expansion was a displacement of existing cultures and languages, not a replacement of people. The locals just adopted a different language and religion. One is also much more ancient than the other.

By “historical linguistic spread” we mean caliphates conquering areas I agree, not that there weren’t any Arabic speakers before conquest in those regions. I don’t see these things as morally different things. Also to my understanding especially in the Maghreb there was 100% Arab settlers who formed an upper class over the indigenous groups.

I do not support those conquests I must be clear. But this rhetoric is frequently used to A. Falsely describe Palestinians as invaders and B. Try to justify modern atrocities by Israel

I’m not doing either I’m just saying this one-sided history that Arabs just spawned into the region vs Jews came in killing everyone isn’t accurate. Not that Israel didn’t displace people.
