This is literally a factual statement? Like the 40 babies thing, there was no evidence of mass rape. Rapes did occur, but the media had been trying to portray this as some uniform, deliberate strategy instead of individual acts of violence. This was an exaggeration of an already horrible reality (just like the 40 beheaded babies), what was intentionally spread in order to get the West to support the subsequent genocidal campaign carried out my Israel.

Because a ton of rapes literally didn’t happen. It was a false claim, just like the 40 beheaded babies, hence why it hasn’t been substantiated since. Some rapes occurred and that’s horrible, but it a blatant lie to present that as an intentional, organized policy instead of bad men being bad men. These exaggerations of a bad enough reality were used to get the west to back the murder of hundreds of thousands of people.
