and American per-capita emissions are 4x that of Chinese. China has a population of 1.3 billion people, whereas the US has a quarter of that. China is the world’s leading supplier of renewable energy, and has been pioneering nuclear research while the US has doubled down on fossil fuels and committed to logging the remaining old growth forests that the nation occupies
