What argument? It’s literally just a claim that objectively untrue from a historical perspective. There is not political / ideological continuity between the Democrats of the 19th century and today.

The argument is democrats that support modern slavery by hiring illegal immigrants with bad wages and working conditions and the democrats of the 1850s also supported slavery. Not saying thy are the same party but they share this

but democrats don’t support that? that argument doesn’t exist, it’s an entire false premise. (also it’s literally republicans who are hiring those migrants and treating them like slaves)

The argument is that history repeated itself, even if it’s not the same people or people that have the same beliefs how is it a false premise comparing two parties that both believe in slavery just one’s a modern form of it. If Republicans really benefited from illegal immigrants, they wouldn’t be trying to throw them out of the country. It’s the Democrats that work with large corporations to get these workers illegally.
