I was born in Las Vegas and moved to the East Coast at 4 years old, so there’s been all sorts of family functions out west for me to view that as a real place with real people

I remember being in LA in January, and having people surprised I was swimming in an outdoor pool in January at 65 degrees, but they didn’t know I lived in the Appalachians and it was the warmest I’d been outside in months

It was the pool in my grandparents’ retirement community, and my great aunt went swimming with me while my grandma explained we were East Coasters and that was the warmest we’d been in a minute lmao
