hot take as a black american i take pride in my country even though there are clearly things we need to fix i honestly couldn’t see myself anywhere else. americans who “hate it here” haven’t traveled and seen how good we have it

Plenty of other countries have free speech, democracy, and guns

Other countries have these. Scandinavia: Norway, Denmark, and Sweden consistently score the highest globally for both public support and legal protections for free speech Other countries constantly have democratic elections. You’re not very smart.

Germany has all that too though. they’ve even got insurance requirements for all gun owners in case something happens, similar to all registered vehicles have insurance in case of an accident/crash.

so my first post was kinda naïve i should’ve said: as a black democrat i feel there’s a picture painted we hate our country but i actually take pride in being american and american values especially because my ancestors fought for freedom and built this country and i feel it would be wrong for me to hate it when they fought so hard for my future. 🇺🇸❤️

i can understand that want for patriotism, but we have a LONG way to go before we can feel like that again like we barely managed to feel in 2012.
