She gets all her news from Facebook or FoxNews. She doesn’t interact with anyone with any opposing views and will mentally shut down if you show her videos of things he has said/done (I’ve tried). Mostly it’s a “he hates the people I hate” kind of thing.

You can try to make a list of grievances and positives about each party, anonymize which party did what. Sit down with her and go through the list, asking her if she thinks the action was appropriate or not. I’m sure if you get through the list you can be like “of the XX things you disagreed with, the GOP/Trump was responsible for YY of them”

Like what’s worked for my Fox News exclusive family is to not make it about “I don’t like politician X or party Y because of Z”, but rather list out why I’m upset with the state of politics and how we’re being lied to by everyone. My mom’s fully cut out Fox News from her life, my dad still has some work to do. He doesn’t watch Fox much but he’ll watch Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro still :/

Idek if something like that would work. She’s completely irrational (thinks blue states allow “post-birth abortions”) and is so tightly strung that if she feels her views are threatened, she lashes out at whoever is close by. It’s sad to see but I’m honestly just so done, it’s been like this for years and I’m over it

I found his account and saw that he tweeted about how he doesn’t want immigrants eating his dog. He has never owned a dog.
