Fact: There is not a single airline in America that allows unqualified pilots to fly their multimillion dollar planes full of people, because that would be fucking stupid. Anyone who believes that’s happening is fucking stupid.

The FAA will hunt you down like a super soldier if you fly without a private pilot license or commercial license. No one is letting u fly without those licenses

There actively was during the Biden administration however, a push to prioritize female and BIPOC admissions into flight schools and military flight programs. They’re overall like less than 5% of the flying population.

Okay but that’s totally different. Once they finish those flight programs, they WILL be qualified, so who cares?

Regarding my personal experience in the flying community, they should be getting into the airlines now and would’ve at the very least had their licenses before the end of the last administration. Not saying they aren’t qualified, but I do know people who were very qualified passed over for many opportunities in the community and the opportunities given to those who were objectively less qualified. BIPOC and female pilots aren’t the issue, passing over qualified people for a quota is.

Explain in detail what programs were implemented to increase female and BIPOC admissions into flight schools. When were they implemented and how do they function?

Selecting one qualified person over another qualified person isn’t people people unfairly passed over. That’s called not getting the fucking job.

See but “prioritized for admission into flight school over someone ‘more qualified’ by virtue of their daddy owning an airplane” is clearly not the same as “allowing unqualified pilots to fly commercial airliners” and the people who have tried to equate the two out of their own racial animus are stupid and/or just plain racist.

plenty of more qualified pilots of all races have been passed over for less skilled rabdom white dudes too. this is simply a expected part of job seeking. no hiring process is truly meritocratic, and all the pilots hired are qualified at the end of the day. this is a non-issue unless you feel entitled to a job

Exactly. The myth of being overqualified or less qualified is hilarious. When it comes to being a commercial pilot, one is either qualified or not. Period.
