Or bc that was their long term friend/coworker…after working years on the force a lot of incidents you become numb to, to help cope but you can’t really when it’s your friend

1st reconsider ≠ cop. the things that lead you to numbness are not the same things that lead cops to apathy. similar, and overlapping experiences, but not the same. cops take lives and based on the abysmal violent crime prevention numbers i'm willing to bet on average they take more lives in a few years of service than they save in their careers. this is not the same as somebody who solely tried to save, serve and assist people in crisis

also i'm not sure i even believe you because i'm friends and family with probably a dozen or so first responders and they all HATE cops because they constantly make shit worse, hurt people unnecessarily, and try to do illegal shit with patient info in the case of EMTs. in a similar way that every nurse i've ever known hates cops

As a first responder I hate when PD narcans my cardiac arrest Pt, but I feel like you can’t generalize and speak on this topic until you see the ppl who are touching kids or beating women or the fear you have when your life is endanger at your job, or seeing someone who is a pile of meat on the freeway

Do you think the fact that this info happens to be in a Wikipedia article makes it false? Go look up LASD deputy gangs then. It's a notorious and long-standing issue that the state itself has acknowledged. Y'all will do anything but admit policing is flawed and that there are criminal elements to our police forces. In case you don't decide to look that up, it's actually a statistic about how 40% of cops admit to committing domestic violence. The people touching kids and beating women are THE COPS
