The genuine reason is because it was a active investigation. The FBI has been looking into this for fuckin yearrsssss. Biden literally couldn’t do shit until the DOJ stopped their investigation. The problem Trump ran into was stopping the investigation. Thus the DOJ then was free to release whatever was needed. Although congress did push their hand to release faster. Either way, Biden didn’t release it because A) he didn’t promise to not really campaigned on it and B) literally couldn’t.

I mean I don’t think it warrants not releasing it, but one thing that comes to mind is that folks on the right are dead set on disbelieving anything that comes from a Dem admin. if Biden had released the files, MAGA would have 100% gone “hoax” and moved on forever

there is still a contingent of MAGA that still thinks it’s a hoax ofc. but like, I doubt the MTG faction would have split off if this was released under Biden Also I think the Clintons do still have their hands on a lot of the DNC, if not necessarily Biden specifically
