Given “I want a political outsider” is what gave us Trump, I have soured on the concept significantly

Political outsider doesn’t mean good. It could mean a new progressive candidate. Or it could mean an actual neo-Nazi.

Good point. I must admit when I asked this question, I had a little too much optimism that most Americans would be looking for a comparatively boring candidate at this point. Outsider doesn’t always mean good. But I also think enough people are looking for someone with more grounding to be in leadership.
