Guaranteed you'll have plenty of the communists on here downvoting this while ignoring that a 3d printer is a literal mean of production

I can’t think of a single rational reason why anyone would support this

"Ghost guns" is the reasoning that you're going to see, but in reality this likely just going to kill home manufacturing

This regulation isn’t just going to harm at home. All of these state’s regulations basically end all machine shops within these states, as it bans CNC mills as well and laser cutters.

You're right, off the top of my head it'd encompass home manufacturing, STEM education, machine shops, makerspaces, and probably a good few more that don't come to mind

Hell, welding is an additive manufacturing process, in function it can be very similar to a FDM printer. Is welding going to be illegal, provided that someone can show an ability to manufacture an AR or glock lower by hand with a welder?

Wire Arc welding is considered additive, so yes it would also follow under this

I looked at the Colorado law, and what confuses me is apparently ACTUALLY trying to print something the first time is an immediate misdemeanor, but having the plans is a felony. Can’t wait to have cops show up to my house because my internet went down and I printed anything slightly tube shaped

Yeah I think in a lot of these where they make "plans" or "blueprints" illegal, it's vague enough where it can even mean just a semi detailed picture too. If you're a gun owner in one of these states and have a matt for cleaning similar to whats pictured, I suspect its very likely that some interpretation of the law could make it illegal
