Yeah I agree with the whole nonviolent offender thing, I lean very heavily toward personal freedom so I wouldn’t like to see people who are peacefully using drugs on their own property (not just weed) be incarcerated. Except their position is to abolish ALL incarceration. I don’t feel comfortable emptying the population of ADX Florence into “restorative justice programs”.

I haven’t seen many people really calling for this, is there any particular politician you might have in mind? Not trying to come off as rude just genuinely curious bc if that’s the case I’d avoid voting for them lol

Biggest one that comes to mind is Darializa Avila Chevalier, in NYC. No worries, I hate when people make blanket claims and don’t back up their positions with data or names

Having looked into her I agree she’s too extreme for my liking, maybe less extreme sentencing on same issue and prison reform. Appreciate the example 🫡
