i said that bc i was in college in 2016 and i was actively alerting my Gramps that all the right-wing memes he was reposting on Facebook had Russian-affiliated accounts’ watermarks on them lol. 😂 Trump literally complains about this exact thing — that all the pro-Trump Russian bot accounts that were being publicly exposed at that time were actually all a big hoax by Democrats and still is… is he wrong or are you wrong?

Congrats, confirmation bias wins. If you look in that link, and follow the connected article titled “Trove of 'Russian troll' posts exposed by Congress” from 4 months prior, you’ll see direct examples of Russian-bot advertising posts on Facebook and how there was direct payment for advertisements directly against the democratic candidate… all of which are images directly released by the U.S. Congress (with both House & Senate controlled by Republicans) at the time of publication.

let it be clear that article I suggested also shows some of the same posts you’re talking about that specifically target Black Americans, so it isn’t even biased bc it’s from the same resource linked in your own article. However, those posts you’re presenting as examples of it being rampant across all media when it was just Buzzfeed talking about Tumblr, when the similar posts published by US CONGRESS are quantifiably LESS common than the posts promoting Trump and right-wing causes… 😐

so to conclude; the posts by Russian-bots online intending to influence the 2016 election made posts that promoted Trump MORE COMMONLY than they did making posts that opposed Trump in a quantifiable manner, as represented by published images of posts in the BBC article “Trove of ‘Russian troll’ posts exposed by Congress” (11/2/2017).
