It’s the musical 1776, it’s about the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It’s kind of interesting because it was made in the 70s and has a lot of allegorical content towards Vietnam and Nixon-era conservatism. I’ve always like it because of that — the message is that things suck and they will always suck but we can still change things for the better — but lately I can’t even get to that level of optimism
