Oh cool, universities are banning graduation speeches and replacing them with pre-recorded (pre-approved) remarks.
I simply cannot imagine what the rationale behind that could possibly be!
Only private institutions can do this. Federal and state (and all other PUBLIC) universities will have MAJOR first amendment issues with both viewpoint discrimination and content discrimination.

Which makes sense I guess. But still kinda sad.
They just had the valedictorian record a 2 minute speech and didn’t need a backup (me I was salutatorian )
