We still have authoritarian regimes we don’t have the same central planning. Even China has their sezs it’s not a coincidence.

central planning exists in the US, it’s just privately planned. giant combines like Amazon, Walmart, nvidia, Apple, etc. do not function without extensive central planning, and outright elimination of trade barriers

Do you think Walmart is making all there products? No, they’re buying most of their products from external sources in response to a market that’s not central planning.

“and an outright elimination of trade barriers” nowhere did i say that Walmart produced all that it sells. Walmart has integrated its vendors into its planning and logistics model in order to limit trade barriers and enable itself to better maintain its stock. Walmart and its vendors both share joint oversight in the planning and distribution of their services. we can pretend this isn’t central planning, but it’s just pretend at the end of the day

I didn’t say you said that. My point is the difference between a centrally planned economy and Walmart is that at the end of the day they are purchasing goods in response to a market. In central planning you would be trading goods based on what the central body thinks has utility. Thats why it’s better bc you can judge the utility of something bc people give money and that gives it relative value to other things.
