The divide between blue states and red states on every metric is wild. Why are the blue states so much better in literally everything? How did this happen

I am the guy who was spamming maps. There’s a mix of factors. Poverty and lack of education among white voters tends to reinforce conservative politics. So if a state less educated and poorer, it will usually lean Republican. More rural states have less healthcare access, and tend to be more Republican.

As someone from a red state, GOP governance is like the monkeys at the typewriter but they can only churn out bills that hurt minorities and take away fun stuff

Republican states also tend to not fund good healthcare and education systems. They don’t value public services. This reinforces cycles of poverty

Also the Deep South is one of the most heavily Republican areas due to a long history of voting based on racism. This intensely racist area is also the area which was hard hit by the civil war and never really industrialized and modernized like the north did.
