This may sound wishy-washy. But sometimes the best way to “win” may well be to walk away from those obviously unwilling to learn.

Agreed. Just because someone walks away from a debate doesn’t mean they lost it. It’s important to debate against someone who has an open mindset and meet basic debate hygiene standards.
