I mean there is no fucking world where a decapitation strike against an entrenched regime results in a lasting victory. We did that shit BOTH TIMES the last time we went to war in the Middle East. It didn’t work in either. It doesn’t fucking work.

Like, I’ve studied international conflict pretty extensively, I took like 5 high level courses in international politics that were conflict-specific. Even removing any morality from the equation, and putting on my Realpolitik Ghoul Goggles, that shit is still just plain stupid. Decapitation only works on VERY weak regimes, which the Islamic Republic was not.
