 Republicans and just conservatives in general, operate off of “justification”. What I mean by this is every action is justified by an accusation thrown at anyone left of center. We gerrymandered because Dems did it, we rigged elections because Dems did it

I genuinely feel like I’m being gaslighted when stuff like this comes up. The GOP are the ones who gerrymander, but Dems are “unfair” and “starting a war” when they counteract? Give me a break

Liberals/Democrats do the same exact thing, but the key difference is that they’re not lying about who actually stepped over the line first.

Yeah, and they also support a gerrymandering ban. Republicans do not, instead they’re on some BS like giving Arlington/Alexandria to DC

That’s kind of what I was trying to drive at. Probably needed to workshop this one a bit. The key is that it IS all lies. The important part is not only that it’s all lies, it’s that they also justify their bullshit with future tense claims. We gerrymandered because Dem were going to do it so we had to stop them.
