Which is fine this is complicated philosophically, I’m pro-choice but I’m pointing this out bc I think policing speech in this way is bad especially when it’s about a complicated topic.

Bc I don’t think it’s a bodily autonomy issue I think it’s a personhood issue. I think abortion is a good thing for people to have. Family planning helps people, especially vulnerable groups. It’s hard to justify this if you’re killing a person. I think there’s good biological and philosophical reasons to believe that a lot of fetuses aren’t people. For example some of them are literally a single cell thing and fetuses up until around the 2nd trimester can’t be conscious.

But it’s hard for everyone to agree on this philosophically bc it’s takes some bio knowledge and the effort to figure out why people have value, which is an awkward question to answer bc you don’t want to exclude people. ofc religion also fucks this up as well. That’s why I think reasonable people can disagree on the issue and we shouldn’t police it.

Also there’s probably a lot of forms of speech that are hard to police that indirectly fucks with people’s lives. Like bullying, gossip, probably a lot of political conversations.
