Yeah I’ll give you that, if you didn’t know anything about who trump was then I can see his purported goals being attractive. Less corruption is a good thing, less foreign wars is a good thing…etc

That’s because it’s a movement, not an ideology. As an ideology, it’s just nationalist populism; consistency is utterly unimportant behind feeling like a patriot and sticking it to whoever they feel like is the “elite”, and it’s *way* older than 12 years

I never voted for trump, but its completely disingenuous to say that the contents of the initial platform only had widespread appeal because people were “manipulated”
