I’d agree. Which is why you can buy Mein Kampf and The Diary of Anne Frank in one go on Amazon. Some ideas are bad, but if we’re not aware of them we risk recreating their mistakes

My favorite right wing idea is that slavery is evil and should be abolished. The same one that they had to fight democrats in order to free the slaves

In order to properly contextualize this, we need to discuss the French Revolution but in order to understand the French Revolution’s origins, we need to review the history of the Roman Republic.

As someone who leans right I’ve never really liked this talking point. Sure the Republican Party can take credit for supporting emancipation in the past, but isn’t what’s important the ideas and actions the party does now? And the fact of the matter is that the party’s extremes have become breeding grounds for ideas antithetical to what it used to stand for
