to CORRECT somebody saying something dumb - “hispanic” is a descriptor that means ‘relating to Spain or Spanish Speaking Countries’. It is literally completely divorced from race.

yes, that’s why surveys ask for your race AND “are you Hispanic/Latino” because you can be white af + Hispanic, or black + Latino.

Yup - hispanic is “spanish or spanish speaking” and latino/a is geographically bound to LatAm and south america
