The fact that ppl can’t see how fatphobia is rooted in racism, classism and ableism is crazy

Not really. They usually use the word fat as a neutral body descriptor. Until they become older and learn from society or their peers that being fat is looked down upon

nobody on the playground in kindergarten was saying fat as a compliment 💀

Read again. NEUTRAL BODY DESCRIPTOR. Do you know what that means? It’s not at all a compliment, it’s an observation…

i’m saying it wasn’t a neutral body descriptor at all

I probably heard my first “yo mama so fat” joke when I was like 4 and I kinda doubt it was meant to be neutral

Yeah so that’s not normal. I didn’t hear any of those jokes until middle school

Little kids who have no filter and say “mommy that person is fat!” Or “mommy you are fat and I am small” is absolutely neutral. They’re so innocent until corrupted by fatphobia

I would wager my life savings that your experience is way less normal than mine. Kids at my middle school had graduated to much more vile jokes at that age and I don’t think that’s particularly abnormal for 12 year olds

Again I’m talking little kids. The ‘so little they don’t have a filter’ kids and don’t know what fatphobia is. Until they learn fatphobia from their peers in school…

And again I’m saying there’s plenty of little kids that thing being fat is the funniest fucking thing in the world years before they’ve ever heard the word fatphobia

That’s bc they were raised by fatphobic ppl then. I’m so sorry that was your experience as an innocent little child. They don’t need to know the term to understand the concept of the fact that it’s not socially acceptable to be fat. Kids are smart and will pick up on societal norms

I teach kids how to read and OP is 100% about fat being a neutral descriptor. I have kids read the word daily to describe things like cats, dogs, and people. It’s only negative if someone tells you it is
