Yall do realize that abortion isn’t an issue you can really vote on if your trying to federally legalize it. Until the Supreme Court magically becomes democrat which won’t happen for like 30 years when they have a chance to (because of idiot democrat judges retiring at a bad time) the court will never bring the law back to the federal government.

Just to clarify- the dobbs decision overturned roe v wade (a supreme court decision, not a law) it didn’t do anything to make it impossible to legalize abortion nationally through congress. It would be very difficult, yes - we’d need dem majorities in both houses, a dem in the white house, and the senate filibuster overturned (this could be accomplished with a simple majority)

The dems had this exact opportunity at the start of the biden administration, and wasted it, because a couple of centrists dems in the senate refused to overturn the filibuster

This is not true. Not only would you have to have democratic majority in both chambers, but you’d have to pass it under a constitutional clause since it’s no longer considered a constitutional right through Dobbs. And I highly doubt that the Congress will be able to go through something like the commerce clause or the 14th amendment to justify this, especially because there will immediately be a lawsuit which will go straight to the Supreme Court where they will probably rule in the same way.

Again, this is not correct. Had did they even pass it, the court would’ve likely struck it down because they probably would’ve gone through a clause that doesn’t make relative sense. And even if the cause did make sense, it’s highly likely that the court would not agree since they are republican majority.
