Yeah I mean absolutely read it yourself and try the things yourself. The first time I read it I wondered how many “Christian leaders” actually studied any of it. But I don’t recommend isolating and judging your parents. Chances are they got tricked by some religious grifter themselves, and you breaking away from them isn’t going to bring them any closer to God/being righteous people.

Like when you can quote the scripture better than the “leadership” and subtly ask questions… make statements. That’s sort of the ballpark of what Jesus was doing. Traveling from town to town calling out the religious hypocrites for what they were.

I did. Many times. I had no choice. And then took a class in UG. I made that choice because I was SAd and unknowingly impregnated as a result. Then I had a miscarriage. I still have the picture of what came out. I didn’t tell my parents until a year ago and they told me to get over it. So. I dont hate christianity. but if that was my example..yeah ima cut em off and discover faith for myself 🫪

That’s a tough road to go down for sure. This might sound strange but for some reason trying the diet/clothing stuff helps immensely. It might not seem relative, but whatever it does for your health seems to compound positively. Wish you well on your journey. 🫶

funny enough i started questioning it when i watched a batman movie. the villain said something like “if god is all powerful he cannot be all good, and if god is all good he cannot be all powerful” that’s when i started asking questions. ive yet to get a valid answer.

Not to throw any shade on the Batman movie but it’s a bit of a limiting perspective used for character motivation. I get asked at work often enough, why there’s so much evil in the world, or why God would permit evil if he’s all powerful. The simplest answer I’ve come up with studying the stories in the scripture is: If evil was not permitted to exist, doing good would not be a choice. Otherwise we might as well all be NPCs, robots, whatever.

Like yeah he could just lightning bolt every wicked person walking the earth right now, but then you and I would not have the opportunity to choose to be good, to sort out and choose what is righteous, then do whatever that thing is. It gives us an opportunity to be the good with wish to see in the world.

ive heard your pov a bunch. no disrespect to you. but it doesn’t stand. because its not just man. i actually found a flesh fly in my home dead on the sill 2 wks ago. they prey and give live birth to open wounds on any living creature. same class as the eye eating flies in south america. they fly into eyes, lay eggs and eat the eye tissue out. if all creatures are His creation, why would God create things designed to make man suffer? why does he allow suffering at all?

either He is all benevolent and powerless to stop it. or He can stop it and chooses not to, which makes him not good. Those are the ONLY options. He’s allowing suffering to continue or He can’t stop it. Even if we have free will. If he had the power to redirect he should, if he doesn’t, we have a problem in assuming God is good.

As someone who’s aiming to align themselves with God’s will, I’ll happily help you with your fly problem, but hopefully you see what I’m getting at. It’s very difficult, arguably dangerous to put yourself in God’s shoes (don’t let yourself become possessed by pride) but consider if you were writing this story. Would you do so without villains, monsters, creatures of the night to test the metal of those who would combat them?

I think you’re missing my point. I dont deal with this regularly. But if all beings are God’s creation, and the mentioned beings sole purpose is to cause pain in other beings, why did he make them to begin with? We wont overly anthropomorphize God. But it goes back to my point he is either all powerful or all benevolent. Both cannot be true simultaneously and the ONE example I gave is sufficient. I don’t wanna blow up this post in the comments do u can DM me for a theological debate.
