It’s always been a centrist position since its creation. Before ICE it was Immigration and Nationalization Services which was objectively better at its jobs since it was a part of the DOJ and treated immigration enforcement as a civil offense (which it is)

I hate that people automatically assume that centrist = placating the right. Like I just hold pragmatic, reasonable views to increase cooperation between the parties. That doesn’t mean I support any of what this far right admin does
