The rest of the government of Venezuela would rather not meet the same fate as Maduro and will negotiate for their survival. They’re not religious fundamentalists, they’re cynical, and they will do what’s in their best interest, which is to cooperate with the US now that they know we’re serious

It’s just going to split apart into several heavily armed factions vying for control over turf against whatever puppet govt we try to install. And that’s not even talking about the Colombian cartels yet who operate there with impunity
