Is it horseshoe theory or is it pro gun has been almost universally present in all political movements to some degree (including libertarianism and independent movements) and moderate democrats being squarely anti gun is reactionary
This is why I think the far left is ridiculous. It’s a lot of the same things as fascism like “hey you can’t own anything since the state (the elite/the dictator) owns everything”

We are just anti-gun, in the same sense of basically all European countries, as well as Asian countries such as China or Japan.

Anti gun, or pro regulation? lol all these countries besides maybe Japan have more regulations around guns but people still own them.

Firing guns is literally an automatic attempted murder charge in Japan Yes, by anti-gun we mean extremely restricted. For example in the Netherlands guns are banned outside of sport shooting, hunting, and professional security/military/police roles.

Similar laws in UK, you can only use for hunting or sport or farming or professional Similar laws in China You straight up cannot own a gun except for very specific exceptions like those mentioned above.

My point is purely anti gun stances have been a reactionary stance to very clear gun violence in the US and not direct evidence of horseshoe theory. Explaining anti gun stances to me isn’t really relevant to the point I’m trying to make (no offense lol, I don’t care enough about guns to debate them)

I’m talking specifically US politics, not globally
